Tryhm – „Labyrinth”
Heerwegen Tod Production

Baron first solo dark ambient opus „Labyrinth” is one of the more well thought out releases of dark ambient in last year. Apart from innovations and such from other project goals, especially from black metal (ProFanatism) and death metal (Elegis), Baron has put his entire soul into the creation of this release. Upon the very beginning you meet yourself into complete solitude and darkness that surrounds this release. The musical aspects aren’t very complex, but the emotion and power the harmonies of this release are unbelievably dark and bring the deepest emotions through to you in the most honest way imaginable. Despite the very primitive aesthetics of this release, the depth of the feelings you will recieve from it go far beyond any other ambient release imaginable. Baron has poured himself into the very depths of sorrow to consume this master piece release from beginning to end with some of the most depressing hymns of darkness you will ever hear. This tape literally take apart your soul and drive it to the very pits of inner sorrow and suffering with the honest solitude of this recording. Anybody who is listening to „Labyrinth” I would recommend to hear in complete silence and darkness. This is one release that really takes you to the end of your existence and filled with some of the most powerful ambient that truely could destroy your soul.As you listen to the despair and darkness through the spirit and depth of this release you will be taken deep inside your soul and pull it a step closer to the end as all feeling is drained from you upon listening. The phrases compiled in this release are those that will grab you by the very soul and take you a step closer to your own destruction and ruin. Feel through this recording and let it grab your soul and pull you closer to yourself. Stare into the infinity of the blackness that surrounds you and these are the hymns of your own inner decay and demise. The songs, despite, or perhaps due to, their length, are all very original. Compared to one another, they don’t share any elements with each other except for the atmosphere they create, which remains about the same through the entire record. No boredom due to repetitiveness here, it is actually very entertaining. This is dark ambient done correct and where everything is well constructed and excellent as well.At closer listening, it all begins to form together and creating something that is filled with a dark sinister power. Expanding through the songs, we are taken on a journey which moves together at some times, and moves apart and around you at other moments.”Labyrinth” seems to be many things, but above all it seems to be the deconstruction of reality, the gates of death looming, the sensation of being followed by spirits, being taken into a dark landscapes, walking around aimlessly in the labyrinth of woods at night.Certainly this record is not for everyone. For the select few it is absolute brilliance, a recording that contains the keys to the realm of death.
